Are there minimum lengths of stay?

We do not normally accept stays for one night on a Saturday. Once in a while where there is an event on the Friday night, one night stays on Saturday may become available. We generally list these in our offers section of the online booking area.

Over the holiday periods we have minimum stays as follows, though we sometimes have shorter stay durations available last minute:

  • Easter Weekend: 3 nights.
  • Summer holidays: Hotel has no minimum stay.
  • Christmas: 3/4 nights
  • New Year: 3 nights.

How do I make a booking?

All accommodation reservations must be confirmed on time of booking by either a valid credit card deposit or full pre-payment. This can be done online by clicking here or call the friendly reservation team on 0800 072 6134 or 01723 357400.

Can I stay for one night on Saturday?

Most weekends are sold only on a two nights stay basis. Very occasionally there may be an event taking place on a Friday night which will mean that one night stays on a Saturday are available. Please ask when calling for any such dates or register to receive the monthly email newsletter which will inform you of any single nights Saturdays as they become available.

Can you give me a rough guideline of your rates for the Hotel?

Our tariffs range from £29.50 to £140.00pppn for Room Only.

Our tariffs range from £59 to £160.00 per standard room for 2 adults sharing; Bed & Breakfast.

We have 5 different types of room classes; standard rooms, superior rooms, feature rooms and the Victoria suite and the newly built mini suites, all these rooms classes have sea views available and all sea view rooms have the added benefit of spotting scopes! Some rooms are also suitable for families and offer twin, double and single bed formats. All are priced according to a number of variables (but not limited to those listed below);

  • quality of the room,
  • view from the room,
  • number of persons in the room,
  • ages of person in room (re children),
  • pets in room,
  • quantity of rooms booked,
  • season of the year,
  • forecasted demand,
  • rate of bookings being made for a given date,
  • lead time from point of booking to arrival,
  • unforeseen events

When the above variables are taken into account our prices fluctuate for any given date, this fluctuation allows us to adapt to market conditions giving the customer the best price possible at the time of booking.

Meals when included with the accommodation booking;

  • Breakfast Continental from £6.95 Full English from £9.95.
  • Evening meal from £25.00

From time to time the management may offer promotions on the above meal prices in response to relevant variables listed above.

Prices include Vat at 17.5% and are based on a standard room.

Can you send me out details of any special offers you have either now or in the future?

What we can recommend is that you call the Hotel periodically to check as to whether we have any special offers on. We also have details of special offers on our web site with a mailing list you can join. In the future we plan to email you with specific special offers if you have previously requested that these be sent to you.

Do I have to book facilities?

We do advise that you book facilities such as health club and beauty treatment appointments, in advance direct with the department. We also advise you to book these facilities as far in advance as possible especially for weekends and holiday periods.

Do I have to book for dinner?

Our guests are required to book with hotel reception reservations for dinner. This can be done on arrival. We do advise that large parties wishing to dine together should book as far in advance as possible.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

We generally require a non-refundable deposit for hotel accommodation reservations the value is dependent on the time and duration of your stay; it may sometimes be equal to the full cost of your stay; though online booking may vary.

Is the Hotel licensed?

The Crown Spa is fully licensed for sale of intoxicating liquor and also has a weddings license. Our Café Bar has a 24-hour resident’s license.

Is the Hotel smoking or non-smoking?

All guest rooms are non-smoking, however if you wish to smoke you will have to use the designated areas outside the premises.

What happens if I cancel my reservation?

Unless otherwise stated at time of booking online; Cancellation before 6pm, 2 weeks before arrival—loss of deposit

Cancellation after the above time—Full payment of the total cost minus the deposit.

We recommend a holiday cancellation insurance policy, which covers cancellation through illness, accidents etc…

Access to the leisure facilties during the stay?

Access to our pool and retreat suite facilities (7.00am to 9.30pm) and use of the hotel resident bars (24 hrs to guests) Hot food is available 24 hours a day evning Dining from 6.00pm to 9.00pm. Dinner may be included in specific package options or booked on arrival, subject to availability. Familes please do note the children swim times for our pool below;

CHILDRENS SWIMMING TIMES:
Monday - Sunday: 7:30am - 10.30am and 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times whilst in the Crown Spa Health Club.

What time is check out?

Check out from the hotel is by 11am, you can opt for a late checkout for £10 until 12 noon and £30 until 6pm, subject to availability. Guests are welcome to continue to use the facilities until 5pm on their day of departure.

What time will my room be ready?

Hotel accommodation is available from 3pm. Guests do have access to the leisure facilities from 9am on day of arrival.

When do I pay the balance for my stay?

The balance for your stay is payable on or before arrival; extras during your stay can be paid for at the time they are booked or used or charged to your room after providing a credit card impression at reception.

The Crown Spa Hotel understands that every customer has different needs and we aim to make our hotel facilities available and accessible to all of our guests equally. In rare instances where this is not possible we will endeavour to offer a range of facilities for guests with a perspective on disability including:

1. Which areas are accessible by ramped access with a 1:12 gradient or less (which could be portable), or by lift, or without using stairs?

At the Crown Spa Hotel, Scarborough, we have a full ramped access to “The Hotel Entrance”, “The Bar Entrance”, “ The Leisure Facilities Entrance”, “Restaurant Entrance”, “The lounge Entrance”, all with the gradient of 1:12 or less which is accessible using a lift, or choice of stairs. We also have a stair climber machine on the premises where stairs do not have a stair lift.

2. What are your entrance access dimensions?

The Hotel has a width of a clear opening space at the Entrance of the Hotel at 1600mm, having a length of clear opening space at the entrance of 1650mm.

The width of clear opening space at the Restaurant Entrance is 1040mm, giving the length of clear opening space at the Restaurant Entrance 2500mm.

3. What are your guest elevators access dimensions?

Relating to the Guest Elevators, the Elevators include Braille & embossed buttons to meet the needs of Guest/ people with Disabilities.

The elevator door width equals the length of 800mm, with the elevator car width being 1000mm.

The elevator car length equals 1400mm while the height of internal buttons within the elevator equals 1100mm.

The height on the hand rails within the elevator equal 900mm.

The maximum height of external buttons on the elevator equal 1100mm.

4. What are the access features of your steps and staircases?

The hotel is located with hand rails and staircases throughout the hotel; we also have a stair climbing machine available with assistance on request.

5. Will I be able to read your restaurant menu?

All menus within the Hotel are of a size of 14pt or greater.

6. What special dietary requirements can you cater for?

The hotel caters for all catering dietary requirements.

7. What accessibility facilities do you provide?

We provide the following accessibility facilities within the Hotel:-

  • Hearing induction loop system/s installed in the hotel.
  • Service dogs are allowed to enter/ stay at the hotel.
  • Fire alarm activation vibration alert devices are available on request to alert guests with hearing difficulties during their stay.
  • We have a stair climber available on request
  • We provide assistance as requested by guests as part of our service policy
